How to crop a photo for a better composition

Reframe an image, choose an aspect ratio, and retain an editable original.

Cropping removes the outer parts of a composition without stretching the subject. Decide what the image should emphasize, then move distracting edges outside the crop. A square can suit an avatar; a wide crop may suit a banner.

Using ImgMini

  1. Open a photo and choose Transform, then Crop.
  2. Choose a ratio or use the free crop. Drag on the image to outline the area to keep.
  3. Apply the crop. Undo restores the previous canvas when you need another attempt.
  4. Export a finished copy, or save the project to retain layers and source images.
